We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other staff members to support students with special educational needs and disabilities in achieving their full potential. ** Provide one-on-one support to students with SEND, both inside and outside the classroom, to help them engage with learning activities and achieve their learning goals.
** Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other personalized learning strategies, under the guidance of the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and classroom teachers.
** Support students with practical tasks, including personal care, mobility assistance, and sensory integration activities, as needed.
** Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, respected, and empowered to participate.
** Collaborate effectively with teachers, support staff, parents/carers, and external professionals to ensure the holistic development and wellbeing of students with SEND.
** Maintain accurate records of student progress, observations, and interventions, in accordance with school policies and procedures.
** Relevant experience working with children or young people with SEND, either in an educational setting or a similar environment.
** A genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of students with diverse needs, including but not limited to autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and physical disabilities.
** Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
** Patience, empathy, and resilience in dealing with challenges and adapting to the individual needs of each student.
** A proactive and flexible approach to teamwork, with a willingness to take initiative and contribute to the wider school community.
** A commitment to upholding safeguarding policies and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
** Relevant qualifications or training in areas such as Teaching Assistance, Special Educational Needs, Childcare, or Psychology would be advantageous.
