Learning Mentor required:

Did you know that 8 out 10 parents of children with special educational needs believe that there is not enough support for their child to go to school? Or that 4 out of 10 parents of children with special educational needs actually leave employment to make sure that their child is getting the level of support they need? Could your next role make you somebody who breaks that mould? It is no secret that SEND support is a hot topic right now with the need for passionate practitioners in the sector now greater than ever. With a care package of support from the government imminent, why not pick up a new role changing the lives of children with SEND today?

In this role, you will:

** Provide one-to-one support, or support in small groups, to pupils with special educational needs.

** Collaborate with a dedicated and driven team of school staff to create a positive, warm classroom environment.

** Help to improve pupil learning outcomes by breaking down lesson content into more manageable chunks.

** Support pupil behaviour challenges by using a range of strategies to keep them engaged and place them at the centre of the learning.

** Ensure the effective safeguarding of all pupils at all times.

Previous experience working in schools or supporting special educational needs is desirable. A DBS on the update service is great too but don’t worry, we can help with that if you do not have one!
