The Role – SEN Teacher
This SEN school are looking for an outstanding SEN teacher to join their team in September 2019. They are ideally looking for a teacher that holds QTS and has taught those with special needs. Although this is a secondary teaching role, secondary teaching experience is not essential. For this role, you will be teaching a class of 7 students that have mixed ASD and SLD needs and are working on P Levels. Most of the students are nonverbal and therefore as the SEN teacher you must be able to communicate via Makaton, PECS or BSL etc. Due to the varied needs in the class, as an SEN teacher you must also be able to effectively plan your lessons to meet the needs of all students in the class.

This SEN school pride themselves in offering first class education to their 148 students, aged between 11-19 years that have complex needs with over 85% on the Autistic Spectrum. The school is found in the borough of Greenwich, not far from the o2 arena and benefits from being just a short 4 minute walk from the local tube station. The school is also accessible via many bus routes and has a large car park for staff that choose to drive in. In 2015, this SEN school were rewarded with ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted and have since only made improvements.
