The Role – Mental Health Teaching Assistant

For this Mental Health Teaching Assistant role you will be required to assist a small class of 12 students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. You will be working with them in and out of the classroom with their Maths, English and Science as well as some vocational subjects. There may be times when you are required to work 1:1 with a student to give them the extra support they need in regards to their Mental Health. The ideal Mental Health Teaching Assistant for this role must hold a degree and have previous experience working with a child or adult with Mental Health.

The School – SEMH School

Found in the borough of Wandsworth, this SEMH School cater for students aged between 5-19 years with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and all students have a EHCP. They currently have 96 boys on role and in their last Ofsted in 2019, they were reviewed as ‘good’ in all areas.
