*** Special Needs Teaching Assistant required in an All Through SEN School
*** Special Needs Teaching Assistant on a full time, long term basis
*** Preferably a Special Needs Teaching Assistant with PECS/Makaton/Restrain experience

The Role – Special Needs Teaching Assistant
In this Special Needs Teaching Assistant role you will be required to support SEN pupils very closely, either on a 1:1 basis or in small groups. It is your job to maintain students behaviour, encourage them to enjoy lessons as well as support them in progressing socially, emotionally and physically. Ideally, as an SEN Teaching Assistant you will have previous experience using PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) as well as Makaton and/or BSL (British Sign Language). The students that you will be supporting will have varied complex needs and aspects of personal care may be required.

This Special Needs Schools based in Lambeth caters for students aged 11-16 years that have a range of needs, a high percentage of the students have ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties) and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties). The school is dedicated to improve the students all round needs including their academic, social, emotional, physical and communication needs. The school is led by a very built up and successful SLT which is proven in their Good with Outstanding features Ofsted that they received last year.
