The Role – Behaviour Teaching Assistant
For this Behaviour Teaching Assistant role you will be required to support 6 students aged between 11-14 years with their Maths, English and Science in preparation for the GCSEs which they will be sitting in the next few years as well as some vocational subjects. All of the students who attend this school have been excluded from a mainstream school due to their extreme behaviour. The ideal Behaviour Teaching Assistant for this role will need to have had previous experience dealing with challenging behaviour and also be trained in physical intervention.
The School – Pupil Referral Unit
This Pupil Referral Unit based in Orpington has onsite parking and is a short walk from the local train station. They currently have over 90 students on role aged between 7-18 years, who have been excluded from a mainstream school due to their behaviour. The schools main aim is to improve their student’s attendance and attitude towards their education with a long term view to be able to transition back into a mainstream school. In their last Ofsted they were reviewed as ‘good’ in all areas.
