The Role – Assistant Head Teacher

For this Assistant Head Teacher position based in a Pupil Referral Unit, you will be required to drive the teaching and learning through KS2 -KS5 and will also be required to teach small classes of 6-9 students with challenging behaviour, including SEMH,ADHD,ADD and more. This Assistant Head Teacher position is ideal for a middle leader that is looking to progress within their career. Due to the behaviour of the students, you will need to have previous experience managing challenging behaviour in a similar type of school or within a mainstream school.

The School – Pupil Referral Unit

Based in the borough of Bromley, this Pupil Referral Unit caters for students aged between 7-18 years, of mixed gender, that have been temporarily or permanently excluded from a mainstream school due to their behaviour. The Schools main aim is to improve all of their student’s behaviour, attitude and attendance with a view to place them back into mainstream education. They currently have over 100 students on role and in their last Ofsted in 2019, were reviewed as ‘good’ in all areas.
